Commitment to Sustainability

Aquafil’s focus on environmental responsibility is more than an initiative, it’s our passion. We have developed an Engineering Plastics product called ECONYL®, which is based on reclaimed Nylon 6 and Nylon 66. We also utilize a patented "Lactam Direct Recycling (LDR®) system" to breakdown Nylon scrapt to its basic raw materials for polymerization into prime resin. Every year we review our operations and generate a sustainability report and environmental balance sheet that reflects our commitment to "zero-waste."

Energy & Recycling Business Unit

Aquafil Plastics is supported by the E&R Business Unit for all “green” projects.

E&R has responsibility for

  • identifiying Sustainable Raw Material Sources.
  • Designing systems for Renewable energy solutions
  • Accessing the environmental impact of activities

E&R uses the eco-data for these activities to compile the Environmental balance sheet.
